TIBET ARTS FOUNDATION 

Tibet Art Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2024 by award-winning and well known former master artists Tsering Dorjee, also known as Tsering Bawa, from the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA) in Dharamsala, India.  

WHO WE ARE

Tibet Arts Foundation, As performing artists, we are the artistic bridge between Tibetan performing arts and the global community to fulfill its mission. Tibetan artists are among the most experienced in performing traditional Tibetan opera, theater, music and dance.  Tsering perform few times a year and organizes a lesson for the young generation of Tibetans in the U.S, Hope sustained in exile.
Now in San Francisco, world renown master artists have form Tibet Arts Foundation, offering this unique art to a world audience in hopes of keeping it alive for another generation.

MISSION

The mission of the Tibet Art foundation,
“To preserve, promote, and celebrate Tibetan art and culture through the support and empowerment of Tibetan artists, the preservation of traditional artistic techniques, and the creation of opportunities for cultural exchange and understanding.”

This mission statement reflects the foundation’s commitment to preserving the rich artistic heritage of Tibet, supporting Tibetan artists in their creative endeavors, and fostering a greater appreciation and understanding of Tibetan art and culture globally. The foundation aims to be a catalyst for the continued growth and development of Tibetan art, while also creating platforms for cultural exchange and dialogue.

GOALS

Offering performances of Tibetan opera, theater, music, dance and film, of the highest standard and the widest possible audience. Fostering the appreciation of Tibetan culture and drawing attention to its threatened survival.
Continuing the traditions by providing material support, training, summer camps and encouragement to young Tibetans. Recording and documenting performances in the Tibetan refugee communities for preservation and study.
Initiating cultural exchange programs to explore the common language of performance with artists of other traditions. Our plan is to establish a Tibetan Performing Arts and Cultural Center as a focus for our activities in San Francisco.

Vision of Oraganization:

Preserve, promote Tibetan art and culture, and support Tibetan artists, and raise awareness about the rich artistic heritage of Tibet. The foundation aims to protect and revitalize traditional Tibetan art forms, such as Thangkha painting, sculpture, and wood carving, while also encouraging innovation and contemporary expressions of Tibetan art. Additionally, the foundation works towards providing training and educational opportunities for Tibetan artists in their creative endeavors, organizing exhibnitions and events to showcase their work, and fostering cultural exchange and collaboration between Tibetan artists and artists from other parts of the world.
